Notice of Pile Burning Around Bradley Creek and McGregor Areas

Tolko has notified OKIB that pile burning will take place in the McGregor and Bradley areas over the coming days.

Burning could begin as early as December 5 (today), depending on weather and venting conditions. Tolko receives venting information each day at 4 pm and will confirm their plans the evening before. This notice is an update on our previous notices regarding upcoming pile burning.

Members may see smoke and flames on active burn days. Contract crews will be working in the McGregor and Bradley areas. A couple of piles will be burned near McGregor, and at least two days of burning are expected in the Bradley area. The work is being done to reduce fuel loads and lower wildfire risk by clearing debris from past forestry operations.

Those who are sensitive to smoke, including elders, young children, and anyone with heart or lung conditions, may wish to take extra precautions when burning is active. Limiting time outdoors, keeping windows and doors closed, and using indoor air filtration can help reduce smoke exposure.
