Voting in local elections while living on OKIB reserve lands

Did you know?

Eligible voters living on OKIB reserve lands can vote in the upcoming local government and school trustee elections.

Because OKIB reserve lands cross different electoral boundaries, what you can vote for depends on where you live.

Please check which electoral boundary your physical address falls within before voting.

Okanagan IR 1 and Priest’s Valley IR 6: Eligible residents can vote in the SD22 Trustee election. You may also be eligible to vote for the RDNO Electoral Area B Director.

Salmon River and Round Lake areas: Parts of Okanagan IR 1 may fall within CSRD Electoral Area D. Please check your physical address to confirm your Regional District and electoral area.

Duck Lake IR 7: Eligible residents can vote in the SD23 Trustee election. Please check your physical address to confirm which local government election applies to you.

Living on reserve does not prevent an otherwise eligible resident from voting in a local election.

Advance voting begins October 7
General Voting Day is October 17

Before voting, please check your physical address with the appropriate local government or school district to confirm your electoral area, eligibility and voting location.
