Way’ Members,
Stage 3 Water Restrictions have now been rescinded for OKIB IR #1. At this time, OKIB will be moving back to Stage 2 Water Restrictions.
Replacement equipment has increased system replenishment capacity, and Public Works is satisfied with current water outputs while further work takes place. Stage 2 Restrictions have been recommended to ensure that our systems continue to have adequate water supply as we move into the summer months.
As a reminder, these restrictions are being put in place to help reduce demand on the system and ensure adequate water is available for essential needs, including fire protection. Maintaining sufficient reservoir levels is critical, particularly during the summer months when water use is typically at its highest.
Under Stage 2 Water Restrictions:
- Residents are asked to avoid non-essential water use whenever possible, including filling pools and washing driveways or other hard surfaces.
- Odd-numbered addresses may water lawns and gardens on Tuesdays and Saturdays only.
- Even-numbered addresses may water lawns and gardens on Wednesdays and Sundays only.
- No outdoor watering is permitted between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on any day.
- Automatic irrigation systems may only operate between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on designated watering days.
- Manual sprinklers may only be used between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. on designated watering days.
- Hand watering using a watering can or a hose equipped with an automatic shut-off nozzle is permitted outside of the daytime watering restriction period.
Residents are asked to be mindful of their water use and help reduce unnecessary consumption while work is being completed. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and understanding as we work to maintain a reliable water supply for all residents.
