Community Update: New fire – K41698 above Six Mile ‘Under Control’ status as of Aug 19

As of August 19th, The fire status has now been updated to ‘Under Control by BC Wildfire Service.

Update as of 2:30pm, August 18^th, 2026

Way’ Members,

Please be advised that the new fire start, K41698 above Six Mile along Six Mile Creek Road, outside of OKIB IR 1 is now classified as ‘being held’.

BC Wildfire Crews have actioned this new fire quickly and are on scene.

The Okanagan Indian Band Emergency Operation Centre will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if necessary.
