Description of Event:
Takla Nation Youth Cultural Exchange is a camp that provides Indigenous Youth with the opportunity to witness and take part in cultural traditions such as hunting, trapping, fishing, gathering, medicine making, arts & crafts, and campfire stories.
Location of Camp: Takla Narrows at Takla Lake – Coordinates 55.16794 N 125.72146 W
Date and time of departure: Monday May 25th – Meet at syilx Safety Office at 7:30AM
118 Head of the Lake Road, lower level HOL hall.
Mode of transportation to and from Takla Narrows Camp: OKIB Transportation. (Pending)
Return Date: Friday, May 29th – expected arrival between 7:30PM – 8:30PM. (Subject to change)
Costs incurred for transportation and food will be covered by the OKIB syilx Safety Office and syilx Restorative Justice.
