UPDATE July 25 2100 Hours (9:00pm) Wildland Fire – K51214 (La Casa Wildfire) Near Fintry is Actively Being Monitored

We wanted to update you that the K51214 Wildland fire now referred to as the La Casa Fire is currently estimated at 5.18 Hectares in size. Significant progress has been made from firefighting activity on both the ground and aerial operations by BC Wildfire.  

Firefighting activity is expected to continue overnight, and the Central Okanagan Regional District has advised nearby residents that they will continue to see both smoke and flame which may appear more active after dark.  

Wildfire activity is expected and is being closely monitored by crews on scene.  

The Central Okanagan Regional District has also asked that members of the public avoid the wildfire area unless necessary so emergency responders can safely and effectively carry out their work.

Please be advised that a wildland fire has been discovered near Fintry. At this time the fire is approximately 1 Hectare in size. Okanagan Indian Band’s Emergency Response Team members are actively monitoring this fire for changes at this time.
