About the Bradley Creek Recovery Team
The Bradley Creek Recovery Team was created in response to the Bradley Creek Wildfire, which impacted OKIB in August 2026. Our goal is to support the cleanup and recovery of OKIB and connect impacted residents with programs and services that aid recovery.
Our logo is smúkaʔxn (Sunflower or Arrow Leaf Balsam Root), a symbol of resilience. Every year, no matter how hard the winter or how dry the summer, smúkaʔxn blooms on our land once again.

Updates | November 2026
Food Recovery Boxes – Wildfire Support
The FSI Food Recovery Box Program provides food support to households impacted by the Bradley Creek Wildfire, made possible through the generous donor contributions and collaboration with the Sun Valley Ranch Team.
Distribution: Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the BlueBird Building. This is a one-time distribution, and quantities are limited.
Priority will be given to households that experienced total loss and those most impacted by the wildfire. Impacted OKIB member households on IR#1 are encouraged to complete the Wildfire Impact & Recovery Survey to help the Recovery Team identify needs and plan support.
If you were evacuated and are currently residing outside the community and cannot attend pickup, contact Rochelle or Shelley to discuss options with you to ensure that you receive the food assistance specific to your situation.

Danger Tree Removal
Phase 2 of dangerous tree removal is underway and is expected to continue through December 2026, potentially extending into January 2027. This work remains a priority to improve safety in wildfire-affected areas.
Debris Management and Environmental Testing
OKIB is working with environmental specialists to develop a debris management plan and coordinate environmental assessments, including soil testing. This work will help identify potential contamination and establish safe cleanup procedures.
Members interested in beginning cleanup on their properties are encouraged to contact the OKIB Recovery Team to discuss next steps and ensure activities are coordinated and eligible for reimbursement.
Fridge and Freezer Replacement
Most eligible fridge and freezer replacements have been completed. Eligible Members who are still waiting are encouraged to follow up with the Recovery Team.
Damaged Homes
The Recovery Team will begin reaching out to affected households to better understand the extent of damages, identify outstanding needs and coordinate next steps in the recovery process.
