Why Get the HPV Vaccine?

The HPV Vaccine is highly effective at preventing six types of cancer caused by HPV. It also protects against infections that cause genital warts.

The Vaccine is now free and recommended for the following groups:

-People 9 to 26 years of age

-People 27 to 45 years of age who self identify as belonging to the gay, bisexual, two spirit, transgender or non binary community.

– People 27 to 45 years of age living with HIV

– People who have been treated for abnormal cervical changes after a colposcopy on or after July 31st 2025.

-The HPV vaccine is routinely given as a Grade 6 Immunization for Children.
