Community Notice: Nasal Spray Naloxone now available at Wellness Hub

Way’ Members,

The BCCDC has announced that nasal naloxone kits are now available for all registered Take Home Naloxone distribution sites, of which the OKIB Wellness Hub is one.

That means that we are more freely able to distribute nasal naloxone, which was previously strictly controlled. It is important to note that the Nasal Naloxone may not be the right choice for every situation. Nasal Naloxone has a higher dose and can cause severe withdrawal in people who take opioids daily. Attached to this post is a poster with further information explaining the difference between the types of naloxone and which may be the right choice.

Nasal Naloxone kits are now available at the Wellness Hub at 76 Head of the Lake Road, Lower Level, in the vending machine outside as well as in the lobby.  Please look at the following poster to determine which form of Naloxone is right for you.
