Indigenous Summer Camps at UBC Okanagan

,

From the UBC Okanagan Indigenous Program team:

We are excited to share information about the Indigenous Summer Scholars & Leadership Camps, two FREE overnight programs that will operate this July/August, 2024. Through workshops and programming on and off campus, we aspire for youth to be exposed to various personal, social, cultural and academic developmental activities.

Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp (ISSC):

UBC Okanagan’s Indigenous Programs & Services invites Indigenous youth going into grades 7-9 to apply to the annual Indigenous Summer Scholars Camp – Camp 1 July 7-11 & Camp 2 July 28-August 1, 2024.

Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp (ISLC):

UBC Okanagan’s Indigenous Programs & Services invites Indigenous youth going into grades 10-12 to apply to the Indigenous Summer Leadership Camp July 21-25, 2024.

The holistic learning experiences of both camps are designed to build awareness about opportunities in higher education for Indigenous youth through interactive workshops that incorporate physical, mental, social, and cultural programming. The Indigenous Summer Camps provide an excellent opportunity for students to socialize, create meaningful relations, and develop a variety of skills.

All camp application information can also be found on our website and applications are due by 4:30pm on Friday, May 3, 2024.
