Volunteer Fire Department

The Okanagan Indian Band Fire Department is currently accepting applications from those dedicated, optimistic, team oriented individuals wishing to help keep our community a safer place to live, meanwhile giving back to their community.

You are more than welcome to come by the Fire Hall at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 P.M. every Tuesday night or call and leave a message at 542-9212. Hope to see you there! 

 

Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood EducationSnc'c'amala?tn is a combined school and childcare facility. The centre is designed with children in mind and is a beautiful, top rated facility. The day care, Head Start and Preschool programs are built around play, encouraging the children to begin mastering many fundamental physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative skills and concepts.

Garbage Collection Program

 

For the collection of the waste, please put out waste by 7:00am (pickup times may have changed). Each customer is entitled to put out a maximum of 2 cans or bags of refuse. The driver will pick up more than the quota of 2 bags/cans if there is a sticker attached to each additional bag or container. The stickers can be purchased at the same retail stores on reserve.

 

Blue Bag Collection

 

Please put recyclables out at the front curb in the clear or blue transparent bag by 7:00am (pickup times may have changed). You may put an unlimited number of blue bags  on your pickup day (every other week). Recycle items : Glass (bottles & jars), office paper, newspaper, cardboard, tin cans, aluminum, books, magazines, #2 plastics (semi-transparent only ), boxboard. These items are banned from the sanitary landfill. Bottles, jars & containers must be clean.

 

New Horizons

 

The New Horizons is a place of gathering. The building serves as a community event location. Members are able to book the building in order to hold a variety of fundraisers, services and events.
