DESCRIPTION:Takla Nation Cultural Exchange Camp\nMay 25th to 29th  \nFor OKIB boys ages 8 to 15 \nRegister here: https://form.jotform.com/261037281486257 \nDescription of Event: \nTakla Nation Youth Cultural Exchange is a camp that provides Indigenous Youth with the opportunity to witness and take part in cultural traditions such as hunting\, trapping\, fishing\, gathering\, medicine making\, arts & crafts\, and campfire stories. \nLocation of Camp: Takla Narrows at Takla Lake – Coordinates 55.16794 N 125.72146 W \nDate and time of departure: Monday May 25th – Meet at syilx Safety Office at 7:30AM \n118 Head of the Lake Road\, lower level HOL hall. \nMode of transportation to and from Takla Narrows Camp: OKIB Transportation. (Pending) \nReturn Date: Friday\, May 29th – expected arrival between 7:30PM – 8:30PM. (Subject to change) \n\nCosts incurred for transportation and food will be covered by the OKIB syilx Safety Office and syilx Restorative Justice. \n\nPlease note that there are limited spots available for this trip and only applications that are complete will be considered first.

DESCRIPTION:Junior ESS Program – Emergency Support Services\nJune 27th\, 9:00am to 4:00pm at New Horizons \nway’ Members\, \nJunior Emergency Support Services (ESS) Program – Justice Institute BC (online training) \nCalling on all grade 10-12 OKIB students and OKIB Youth under the age of 25. \nWhat is it? \nA structured\, membership-based Youth program focused on emergency preparedness\, community resilience\, and leadership development. \nThe OKIB Emergency Program Coordinator is introducing the Junior Emergency Support Services Program – an opportunity to learn how the community responds to emergencies such as wildfires\, floods\, and power outages. \nWhat you’ll gain: \n-Hands on training in emergency response and community support. \n-Volunteer credits toward high school graduation \n-Mentorship from experienced ESS team members \n“When emergencies happen\, community matters.
