SUMMARY:2026 Cultural Safety Education
DESCRIPTION:The syilx Community Safety team has identified the 2026 Cultural Safety Education schedule and would like to extend the invitation to OKIB members. \nCSE is hosted at the syilx Community Safety office (118 Head of the Lake Rd) and facilitated by Chris Marchand and Eric Mitchell. This two day Cultural Safety Education uses a relational process to reflect on the impacts of colonialism on syilx people\, past and present. This training includes:  syilx Identity\, Pre-contact\, Canada’s Hidden History\, Residential Schools and Understanding Truth & Reconciliation. We strive to provide a safe and welcoming space for people to learn\, reflect and connect. Those who complete the two day training will receive a certificate. \nDates for 2026 CSE are as followed: \n\nFeb: 24th & 25th\, 2026\nMarch: 11th & 12th\, 2026\nMarch: 24th& 25th\, 2026\nApril: 8th& 9th\, 2026\nMay: 6th & 7th\, 2026\nJune: 3rd & 4th\, 2026\nSept: 9th & 10th\, 2026\nOct: 7th & 8th\, 2026\nNov: 4th & 5th\, 2026\n\nEach session runs from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM \nPlease register here: https://form.jotform.com/251186903961260
