Elementary - Secondary Program
The objective of the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) Elementary/Secondary Education Program is to provide eligible students living on reserve with elementary and secondary education programs comparable to those that are required in provincial schools by the statuses, regulations or policies of the province in which the reserve is located.The INAC Elementary/Secondary Education Program provides funding for various programs and services to support elegible students living on reserve and enrolled in eligible elementary/secondary schools.In order to be "elegible" for student support services; the student must be on the Nominal Roll (NR). Nominal Roll is an annual census of eligible students living on reserve and attending elemtary secondary shcools of September 30th. In order to be on the Okanagan Indian Band Nominal Roll, the student (k5-12) must be living on reserves of the Okanagan Indian Band.

All parents are required to fill out a Student Supply & Allowance form for each individual child that will be living on-reserve, and attending school in our area.

Hot Lunch Program
The maximum amount allowable for gym strip (i.e. gym shorts, sweatshirt, sweat pants, gym shirt) is $100 of the $200 per year. Anything other than the usual items used for gym class will not qualify for reimbursement or payment.
Student Allowance:
The student allowance is provided to all students attending secondary schools. Each student eligible for nominal roll will receive a cheque in September (for September, October, November and December), January (for January, February and March) and April (for April, May and June) for allowance.
Grade 8 - 10: $110.00 per year
Grade 11: $220.00 per year
Grade 12: $330.00 per year
Graduation Allowance:
The graduation allowance is an allowance provided only once. The student will receive a one time payment of $300.00 to use towards rental or purchase of graduation clothing or grad fees. All students will be required to fill out the Graduation Allowance Form in order to access this funding.
